Variable speed dial and the motor is pretty quiet. The tilt is high enough to easily remove the splash guard if you decide not use it. All the tools have an easy twist on and twist off. The mixer stand has real grommets instead of suction cups. The clear plastic splash guard is easy to set on the bowl and can be moved around in the direction you want it to be for adding the mix.
