Retails Sales Associate

Kyoto Kitchen is seeking a friendly, enthusiastic, and professional Retail Sales Associate to join our team at our new flagship DTLA store. We are currently hiring for part-time schedules, with future potential for a full-time role based on business volume. Opening this April at the ROW DTLA complex in downtown Los Angeles, Kyoto Kitchen is a combined import, wholesale and retail project centered on high quality, specialty Japanese foods and ingredients. Primary responsibilities include: -Greet and direct customers -Provide accurate product information and assist with customer questions -Proactively promote new products and make relevant recommendations -Ensure product displays are stocked and orderly -Handle customer transactions and gain familiarity with POS system -Maintain cleanliness and presentation of store and merchandise -Understand processes for wholesale customers and understand wholesale product restrictions and requirements -Track customer feedback and requests -Assist Store Manager with other duties as required Requirements: -Experience in a retail or restaurant environment; Experience with Japanese food in particular is preferred -Ability to operate POS system and handle transactions -Strong level of professionalism and dependability -Strong customer service and communication skills -Fluent or business level English; Japanese language ability of any level is a plus but not required. -As future plans for the store include alcohol sales, this role is limited to those of legal age for off premise sales (18+) Starting Pay Rate: $19/hr If you believe this opportunity is right for you, please submit your resume to contact@kyotokitchen.jp by March 15th.
