For any major mechanic work, such as engine rebuilding/replacement, or transmission replacement, there will be myself and another certified mechanic. My individual service fees range from $56-$98 an hour depending on the job. For example, a shop wanted $300-$500 to change rear brakes on my neighbors Subaru outback. With me it only cost him $175. His brakes work excellently and I did the exact same job the shop would have, the big differences were my hourly rate, the overall cost, and the fact that I didnt try to sell him more than he needed.
