I am the 2nd owner of this 2002 370/12 timeless Rickenbacker Mapleglo. It magically projects and sings like an acoustic guitar, so you can play it without using an amplifier. This enhances the sound when played through an amp. To optimize the powered jangle, the original owner removed the Balance Control pot because it lowers the output of the rhythm and treble pickups, even when set at 10. To further improve the jangle, he also had his luthier replace the plastic nut with a custom brass nut, cut to widen the space between each pair of strings, making chording easier. The only issue I found was the intonation, so I had a skilled luthier replace the six-screw saddle with a 12-screw saddle and perform a set-up, making it easy to become hypnotized when playing through a Vox AC or Roland JC120 amp. If you purchase a Rickenbacker 12-string with the 6-string saddle, plan on spending at least another $350 for a luthier to change the 6-string saddle to a 12-string saddle. A stereo cord from Sweetwater will be included to take advantage of the Ric-O-Sound feature that enhances the chime and jangle. This guitar was never gigged by the original owner or me. There is no fret-wear and the finish is beautiful, with one small scuff and a few tiny dents on the back that did not show up in the photos and (it arrived that way). The Original Rickenbacker Case, Care Manual, Ric-O-Sound stereo cord, 2 sets of Rickenbacker strings, original pick-guards and six-screw saddle are included.
